Karusato 3-chome This is a keyhole shaped mid scale tumulus with a double moat and the following dimensions: an entire length of 96m; a diameter of 56m in the rear round mound; and a width of 75m in the front square part. It is believed to have been constructed in the time frame between the end of the 5th century and the beginning of the 6th century. A lot of luxurious goods, such as swords, a belt with fish shaped ornaments, unique flower shaped ornaments and pendants with three forks, were found from the stone chamber in the center of the rear round mound. They show us the layout of an imperial mausoleum. |
